These days, online reputation is everything to a business’s growth. Without a positive reputation, you can lose as much as 94% of your potential customers to your competition. This is a scary figure to look at when aligned with the going statistic that 9 out of 10 consumers worldwide make the effort to read reviews before buying products. So, what are you going to do about those three damaging 1-star reviews and an average rating of 3.5-stars compared to your competitors 4.8-star average? Well, let’s find out!
So, let’s start with number one.
Ok, you have some bad reviews, what’s the first step? BREATHE! Yep, that’s right. Relax, regain your composure and reply calmy to the review (even though by now you probably want to hunt this person down with a gun and…. no, no, never mind). Let’s remember the number one rule of servicing customers, “The customer is always right”. Fighting them in public view only makes you look worse and could potentially further damage your reputation. I want you to do the following:
Follow these steps and you’ll look back in a week thanking me, I promise.
Look, you really need to follow the key point in the first step above “regain your composure and reply calmly”. If you call your upset customer, get on their level and rage – you’ll regret it. One 1-star review could turn into five or more 1-star reviews from people who don’t even know what your business does!
Basically, follow the steps under ‘Respond to the negative reviews’, but in real life. Be genuine, address their issue, offer them something complimentary, make them know that you genuinely care about your reputation and will do anything to resolve this issue.
Don’t make it awkward, like when your mum used to drag you by the ear into your sister’s room and make you apologise for pulling all of the heads off their barbie dolls and putting them in a jar… Maybe that was just me. My point is, we’re all adults and we can try to resolve the issue as such.
This is why we’re here, to remove negative google reviews! You responded to the review calmly and waited patiently – no bueno. You called the customer and they told you to “P*ss off”… So, what can you do now? Well, that’s where we come in, or another review removal specialist company; but hey, you’re here already so why not give us a shot!
We can contact the content publishing platform on your behalf with our specialist team of know-it-alls and petition to remove your bad reviews. Now look, this isn’t a silver bullet, we’re not going to guarantee all of your bad reviews will be removed. However, if you started with eighty reviews of which nine are 1-star, with an average rating of 4.1, and we managed to remove six of those bad reviews bringing your average up to 4.8/4.9, that’s potentially another 19% of customers that will try you out.
In the previous example, I spoke about a business that had eighty reviews with an average star rating of 4.1. Well, how many more customers do you think you have? You might have eighty reviews and over two-hundred happy customers, why aren’t they reviewing you? Because, you simply haven’t asked. It’s as simple as an email to your existing happy clients asking for a review. Free online reputation right there, you can thank me later.
So, there you have it, a guide to recovering your online reputation. I hope you’ve learnt something, I sure did, carrying out the research for this blog, now get out there and solve your rep issues.
Until next time…
