The internet, ah, what a pleasant place; full of kittens and Trump impersonation videos… It’s also the place of your business’s demise if you’re not careful though.
I know I went full 180 on your there, but it’s true, we’re in an internet age and everything that’s said online, matters. I know you do it, you lookup reviews before going to a new restaurant, hotel or mechanic. It’s natural in 2021, heck, it was natural in 2010 to lookup business reviews before committing.
Anyway, back on task, reviews are important and here’s why:
So, let’s get into them.
Nothing says established when a potential customer notices your business, like 100+ positive real reviews. Reviews are the modern-day word-of-mouth; without them we’d have to actually talk to people – yuck! A customer can get a feeling for what your business is all about without even having to try you out. However, this only works if you have heaps of reviews – not everyone does. If you only have two or three reviews but you’re trying to advertise a high-performance, high-cost product; how would anyone know they can trust you? Increase your reviews, it’s worth it.
So, now that we know reviews are great to show you’re established, I want to tell you this – your reviews are the easiest way to get noticed in 2021. Billboards are easy to miss, who reads the newspaper anymore, what even is a paper business directory? The first thing people do (young and old) when they’re wanting a product or a service, they Google it. Now, they could ‘Bing’ it, ‘Duck Duck Go’ it or even ‘Algolia’ it… But Google is the clear leader in the search engine space, without a doubt.
Now, let’s imagine you’re a mechanic. Well, you might actually be a mechanic, but in this example you’re not a mechanic, but you’re imagining you’re a mechanic… Ok? So, you’re a mechanic and you want customers to find you and hopefully bring their car to you. Over 84% of customers will find you through a search engine (not directly going to your website or calling) and of these, over 90% will look at your reviews before committing. If you can get a great Google Business Profile (GBP) page going with plenty of positive reviews, you will notice the difference.
It’s not even up to you. If you have any presence online; whether it be a website, GMB page, Facebook page or even a Myspace page; you’re going to get reviews on these platforms. Therefore, it’s up to you to control the way you’re perceived. You need to make sure you’re getting positive reviews from your clients and engaging a google review removal company like us to mange your reputation online.
SEO – what is that? It stands for ‘Search Engine Optimization’ – ok and what is that? Well, SEO is your organic rankings in Google without paying them thousands each month to get an ad at the top. This can make or break a business; not being able to rank organically will mean you either fall to the wayside or you’re paying Google/Facebook alotta moolah to rank higher… every month… forever.
The best way to rank locally (if that matches your business model) is to increase your GMB rankings, this will in-turn increase your website rankings. The best way to increase your GMB rankings is to get – you guessed it – more reviews, and positive reviews at that.
That’s it friends, reviews = important, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! So, go get some positive reviews and we can help you get rid of some of the bad ones too.
Until next time…
